With a lifelong passion for sailing, it was inevitable I would find myself working in the Composites industry at some point. Prior to my current role as Sales Director with PRF Composite Materials, I worked for an industry-leading UK-based sailcloth manufacturer primarily concerned with racing laminate sails. Utilising carbon and aramid fibres in the one design and grand prix circuits with success in I14, Fast 40, Imoca and Mocra classes, this naturally piqued my interest further in high performance materials and the transition to PRF was seamless. I realised early on there was a steep learning curve to navigate, which seems to be never ending, and the diversity of composite materials processing and applications ensures there is always something new to learn - which maintains my interest and desire to be part of such a fascinating and cutting-edge industry. My commercial business experience was gained working for a German automotive OEM supplier and a leading tyre manufacturer, coupled with long stints offshore sailing, either racing or supporting ocean rowing events, I try to blend the skills and experiences gained in both business and yacht racing to bring a supportive and positive attitude to managing the sales team at PRF. I’m passionate about bringing out the best in people, and seeing the personal and professional development of the people I work with gives me great satisfaction and is critical to creating a harmonious and successful business. Outside of work, spending time with my family messing about on boats is what I enjoy the most although I can also often be found tinkering with my Triumph motorcycle.
