Shaw Beattie (ECL for Tooling) is a design engineering manager from the National Composites Centre. He worked in the energy and aerospace sectors as a machinist then manufacturing engineer before joining the NCC in 2011. After a brief spell in the entertainment and automotive sectors between 2020 and 2023, he rejoined as our Engineering Capability Lead for Tooling. Shaw's current focus is developing the NCC's tooling design capability, the NCC's tooling strategy and roadmaps with the aim of building a local, national and international framework to aid the tool design and manufacturing communities develop their offering to enable the future manufacturing need of the composites industry to be realised.
