A business leader focussed on sustainable innovation, Damian has concentrated on the mobility and renewables sectors with a keen interest in the development of sustainable high-performance materials, their place in advanced manufacturing and sustainable industry adoption.
Having identified the need for a sustainable technology platform for carbon fibre in 2014, and followed by 3 years of targeted research and industry engagement, Damian established V-Carbon in 2017 to address the environmental challenges associated with carbon fibre adoption. Industry engagement over this period highlighted the need for a fully integrated solution and circular economy for all sectors and has underpinned V Carbon’s technology development and engagement to date.
After a numbers of years of focussed investment into technology development with industry leaders, V-Carbon has successfully developed a fully integrated and proven circular economy with a significantly reduced C02 footprint for carbon fibre. V Carbon’s solution is able to deliver recycled carbon fibre comparable to virgin carbon fibre which is suitable for structural applications, previously not possible.
V Carbon was awarded the EU Life grant in 2021 and is now preparing to establish industrial capacity in both Europe and the US.
