Richard Noble OBE is a renowned British entrepreneur, adventurer, and former racing driver known for his groundbreaking achievements in the world of land speed records. Born on March 6, 1946, in Edinburgh, Scotland, Noble has dedicated much of his life to pushing the boundaries of speed and engineering innovation. He first captured global attention in 1983 when he set a new land speed record of 633.468 mph (1,019 km/h) in Thrust2, a jet-propelled car he both funded and drove.

In 1997, he played a pivotal role as the project director for the ThrustSSC (SuperSonic Car) team, which set another land speed record by breaking the sound barrier at 763.035 mph (1,227.985 km/h).
